I see possibilities, connect ideas, and find solutions—especially when the way forward isn’t obvious.
A CAREER ACROSS DISCIPLINES. A CONSISTENT WAY OF THINKING.↓ KEEP GOING
THE CONNECTING THREAD
Different settings. The same instinct.
My work has taken me into classrooms, client conversations, learning systems, and a book of my own.
I’m drawn to the question beneath the obvious answer: what else is possible—and how could we get there?
Question.→Imagine.→Solve.

01 FIND THE ANGLE
See the opportunity. Shape the idea.
A strong idea starts with understanding the opportunity—and seeing an angle worth pursuing.
CLIENT STRATEGY / SLOW BY SLOW
THE CHALLENGE
Connect audience insight and market opportunity to a persuasive, client-facing idea.
MY CONTRIBUTION
I developed research-led proposals and campaign concepts for a coffee bar, a university, live entertainment, and Terry Reilly Health Services. Each audience called for a different way to make the case.
See how the thinking became work +
A demographic brief for Slow by Slow Coffee Bar. A proposal for Northwest Nazarene University. A Live Nation / Trans-Siberian Orchestra campaign concept. And For a Reason, a proposed television campaign for Terry Reilly Health Services.
Each paired research with a specific creative message. The NNU proposal resulted in a closed deal; the Live Nation pitch was a winning proposal.
↓Sometimes the opportunity is in the audience. Sometimes it is in how the whole system fits together.
02 CONNECT THE DISCIPLINES
Look wider. Find a better way.
Research, learning, and visual design can come together to solve a bigger problem.
ATHLOS / CURRICULUM & VISUAL DESIGN
THE CHALLENGE
Translate long-term athletic development and physical literacy into a physical-education curriculum.
MY CONTRIBUTION
At Athlos, I brought writing, research, and visual design into the same process—building and refining lessons, then designing their pages in InDesign with graphics in Illustrator.

153LESSONS REVISED
See the scope of my role +
I independently wrote the 448 K–5 lessons, collaborated on 150 lessons for grades 8–9, and revised 153 lessons for grades 6–7. Together, the curriculum contains more than 750 lessons.
The work extended from the learning model to visual teaching resources and sample plans.
↓Connecting disciplines can change the solution. It can also open up an entirely new possibility.
03 SHAPE THE POSSIBILITY
See the whole. Connect the parts.
A book opened the door to a broader publishing vision.
GOLD IN THE CRACKS / AUTHOR PLATFORM
THE CHALLENGE
Develop a cohesive author platform and a publishing brand that feels connected to the book while standing on its own.
MY CONTRIBUTION
Alongside the book, I developed the visual identity, website creative, graphics, and supporting materials. Exit Door Press extends that thinking into a distinct publishing name and logo.
THE BOOK→THE BRAND→THE CONVERSATION
See what I carried through +
The platform spans the book, website, one-sheet, creative assets, and speaker presence with Campus Outreach Services.
It brings writing, design, and communication together around one connected story.
THE NEXT IDEA / EXIT DOOR PRESS
A book. A bigger idea.
Exit Door Press gives Gold in the Cracks a publishing identity: connected to the book, with a name and visual presence of its own.
THE BOOK
Gold in the Cracks
A distinct story, with a visual identity built around it.
THE PUBLISHING BRAND
Exit Door Press
A separate imprint, with its own name and open-door mark.
The thinking behind the distinction +
The strategic question: how do you give a book a publishing home while building a brand that stands on its own?
The visual direction keeps a relationship to the book’s concept, while a separate name and open-door mark give Exit Door Press a distinct role as the publishing brand.
↓Different challenges. Different solutions. The same curiosity about what could be.
04 / THE PERSON INSIDE THE PROCESS
See the instinct. Then see the evidence.
The qualities I bring to a team show up in the choices I make. Choose a thread to follow.
DOCTORAL RESEARCH / MOTOR LEARNING
Ask a more useful question.
My doctoral research examined voice inflection and an external focus of attention during a standing long jump in fourth- and fifth-grade students.
A closer look at how the way we give an instruction relates to the experience of learning.
CUSTOMER SUCCESS / ONBOARDING
Build around the person using it.
When teachers and students needed a clearer starting point, I created separate K–6 and 8–12 onboarding lessons for new and existing customers.
The initiative contributed to 200% usage growth in one district.
PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT / PARTNERSHIPS
Create another way in.
I partnered with a local high school to launch an after-school skateboarding program for more than 20 fourth- and fifth-grade students.
The waiting list exceeded double the program’s capacity—a different entry point into movement.
LEARNING SYSTEMS / IMPLEMENTATION
Keep the support within reach.
I designed and created Healthy Body University in Canvas, including its microcredentialing system, to support educators between on-site observations and professional development.
An asynchronous learning experience with more than 100 competencies, built for self-directed development.
WHAT THIS BRINGS TO YOUR TEAM
A fresh perspective. A way forward.
When your team needs fresh ideas, a different angle, or a solution to a difficult problem, I bring strategic thinking, creative range, and the resourcefulness to figure things out.
